«In between spaces» kann als Resultat einer kontinuierlichen Selbstbeobachtung verstanden werden. Die Arbeit gründet auf der Erkenntnis, der persönlichen Unfähigkeit, dem Wahrnehmungsfilter der eigenen Kultur zu entgehen und der Unmöglichkeit die Welt mit einem objektiven Blick zu betrachten. Und doch muss ich als Künstler einen Weg finden mit der persönlichen Subjektivität umzugehen und weiterzumachen.
«In between spaces» ist ein fortlaufendes Projekt das im Zyklus «Experimental documentaries» einzuordnen ist.
Während Recherchen, Reisen und Studienaufenthalten versuche ich eine objektive Dokumentation meiner Umgebung zu machen, indem ich den Blickwinkel der Kamera nicht auf das Geschehen um mich herum, sondern auf das, was unmittelbar vor mir liegt, meine Füsse und den sich darunter befindenden Untergrund, richte.
Durch die fixe Kamera Einstellung und die Abwendung des Fokus von dem was ich betrachten möchte, minimiert sich der persönlich- subjektive Einfluss auf das Bild und den daraus resultierenden Blick auf die Welt.
Im Spannungsfeld zwischen der visuellen und der akustischen Wahrnehmung entstehen neue, mentale Umgebungs- und Gesellschaftsbilder, mit subjektiven Wahrheitsanspruch.
During research, travel and study abroad, I try to create an objective documentation of my surroundings by judge the camera‘s focus on what is directly in front of me, my feet and the present underneath underground instead of what happens around. By the fixed camera position and averting the focus of what I want to look at, the personal and subjective influence on the image and the resulting view of the world get minimized.
In the tension between the visual and acoustic perception, new, subjective mental environment and society pictures are generated.
„In between spaces“ is an ongoing project that is classified in the cycle „experimental documentaries.“ The starting point is the realization of my personal inability to escape the perception filter of my own culture and to see the world with an objective view.
