In der Installation «Mediale Artefakte» entsteht, durch die ästhetische Umsetzung von Informationen, eine fiktive Geschichte, die nicht durch den Künstler, sondern in Echtzeit durch ein Computerprogramm, dem „Realitätsgenerator“, gestaltet wird.
Der „Realitätsgenerator“ analysiert Nachrichtenmeldungen aus dem Internet und vergleicht sie mit dem Inhalt von Filmsequenzen. Findet das Programm eine Übereinstimmung der Nachrichtenmeldung mit einer Sequenz, so wird diese leinwandfüllend projiziert.
Es entsteht in Echtzeit eine fiktive Geschichte, ein neuer Film, der niemals ein Ende haben wird.
The installation “Media Artefacts” originates through an aesthetic conversion of information. It is a fictitios story formed not by the artist but by the «reality generator», a computer program based in real-time.
The «reality generator» analyses news from the internet and compares it with the spoken contents of movie sequences. If the program finds a word in the news matching a spoken word in a sequence of a movie in its library, this sequence will be projected on a silver screen until the next corresponding word is found.
Thus a fictitios story originates in real-time, a new movie which will never have an end.
